HLT37215 Certificate III in Pathology Collection

PathWest has been delivering phlebotomy training to the general public for more than 20 years. We deliver an accredited program through an affiliation with North Metropolitan Health Service’s (NMHS) Registered Training Organisation. The accredited program was introduced in May 2014 and has since produced 162 graduates with a Certificate III qualification.

Course entry requirements

  1. Australian National Police Check

  2. Immunisation and screening tests: Students will be required to provide evidence of immunity and/or vaccination and screening test results upon successful acceptance on the course. (Any cost associated with meeting the requirements will be the student's responsibility). Please discuss with your General Practitioner if you need assistance completing the checklist.

  3. The following selection criteria must be addressed in your application in order to meet the eligibility requirements for enrolment into the course:
  • Evidence of High School or Secondary Education Certificate (equivalent to Australian Year 10 education)
  • Well developed communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative and work without direct supervision
  • Are you willing to collect blood samples from all patients, irrespective of their gender, ethnicity, cultural background and infection status?
  • Ability to follow strict infection control procedures and standard precautions.

You must write approximately one paragraph on each of the selection criteria listed above.
