PathWest transitioning from SafetyLok™ butterfly needles to BD UltraTouch™ safety needles 27 March 2026 PathWest has commenced a full product conversion from the current Safety-Lok™ Butterfly Wingset to the new BD UltratouchTM Push Button Wingset. What is changing? From 1 July 2026, PathWest will stock and supply the BD UltraTouchTM Push Button Wingset. If your clinic intends to order this product through PathWest, it is important that clinical staff are fully trained and confident with the device prior to use. What this means for your clinic We strongly encourage your clinical staff to complete the BD UltraTouchTM training to ensure they are fully trained and confident before transitioning to the new device. Temporary Delays to Vitamin A and E testing 27 March 2026 PathWest is currently experiencing delays with Vitamin A and E testing due to a temporary reagent supply issue. As an interim measure, samples are being sent to South Australia Pathology twice weekly (Tuesdays and Thursdays). The estimated turnaround time is approximately 3 to 4 weeks.
