Infant and Child Tests

Taking blood samples from infants and young children can sometimes be challenging, but our experienced and caring collectors will do their very best to make the experience for your child as comfortable as possible.

PathWest has a number of specimen collectors who are highly skilled with collecting blood from children. We have very  experienced paediatric collectors at our Perth Children's Hospital (PCH) collection centre and we recommend that you visit this centre especially if your child is very unwell or your doctor has asked you to get the tests urgently.

If you are unable to bring your child to the PCH collection centre, we recommend that you attend our hospital-based collection centres.

There are also options for paediatric collections in some community collection centres, but please call PathWest on 13 PATH (7284) so that we can ensure you attend an appropriate centre. Alternatively, please discuss the best option for your child with your doctor.

Please dial 000 for medical emergencies.
