Our Services

Working in partnership across WA

As the Western Australian public pathology and forensic service, PathWest plays a unique and integral role in our healthcare system, partnering with a diverse range of organisations to ensure the optimal health, safety and wellbeing thousands of Australians.

Performing over 16 million tests each year, through an integrated network of accredited laboratories and pathology collection centres, PathWest helps to monitor disease, inform clinical diagnosis and treatment, as well as working to support and deliver the research, development programs and education unerpinning tomorrow's health.

Alongside our clinical work, PathWest is also proud to work in partnership with a wide range of government departments and private organisations across varied industries, offering a range of commercial and corporate testing services.

These services are designed to support our business community and sustain safe environments, ensure optimal employee health and to help organisations ensure the efficacy and safety of water, food and commercial pharmaceutical products and materials.

Dedicated to public health

PathWest takes pride in putting the health and wellbeing of our communities first and operating for the benefit of Western Australians.

We are a key service provider in our public health system, committed to ensuring equitable, quality, timely and affordable pathology services available to all Western Australians, regardless of where they live.

We provide services throughout public hospitals and in the community, through a network of laboratories and collection centres located as far as Esperance  in the south, through to Kununurra in the north.

PathWest also works closely with a range of public health protection agencies in the surveillance and control of outbreaks of communicable diseases such as influenza, tuberculosis or foodborne or waterborne illnesses.

We also take a lead role in public health emergencies, such as the COVID-19 response, by mobilising collection and courier services, developing new testing protocols, delivering world-leading test turnaround times for large volumes of patient samples and providing consultative expertise.
