PathWest offers COVID-19 PCR testing for International Travellers.

- Your test result will be securely emailed to you within 24-48 hrs for you to print out and take with you to the airport. You will receive an SMS of your results once reported, and the email containing the PDF report will be sent during the hours of 8am - 4pm daily or seven days a week. See our sample report to ensure it meets with the requirements of your destination.
- ONLY available at selected PathWest Collection Centres (see below for locations).
- No Medicare rebate is available for this test – you will have an out-of-pocket fee of $145 to pay at the time of your test (credit card payments only).
When to have your test?
IMPORTANT:
- Check with your airline, or the local embassy of the country you are travelling to, as to how many days before travel you need to be tested, or if there are any other special testing requirements.
- If you are travelling to Dubai on Emirates Airlines, or any other destination or airline which requires a QR code link to a digital report certificate, we suggest you use an alternative pathology provider as we are unable to provide this on our report.
- Certain countries only accept specific sample types for testing. The traveller is to produce evidence of what is required for testing for the particular country they are travelling to. For example, Japan requires that a specialised nasal swab needs to be collected if a PCR test is being performed.
- Allow enough time for your test to be completed eg. If your airline advises testing within 72 hours prior to your departure time, and your flight is departing Australia at 10.15am on a Thursday, then you should be swabbed at the earliest opportunity after 10.15am on the Monday before.
-
If you are in a regional location more than three hours by road from Perth, we cannot guarantee results will be back within 48 hours. We suggest you organise to attend one of our metropolitan locations for sample collection prior to travel.
-
You must provide accurate and complete information. If the information you provide is inaccurate or incomplete, we can’t guarantee we will be able to supply an amended report in time of your departure.
-
Please consider travel insurance to cover the event that your test comes back positive, and you cannot travel to your chosen destination.
