PathWest Forensic Biology: Supporting Justice Through Scientific Excellence
Every forensic result begins with science and the expertise of the people who deliver it.
In collaboration with the Western Australia Police Force, PathWest Forensic Biology plays a critical role in supporting the justice system through the provision of high-quality forensic science services. Behind every analysis is a dedicated team of scientists, technical specialists and support staff committed to delivering accurate, reliable and timely results when precision matters most.
As a NATA-accredited service, PathWest Forensic Biology works to the highest standards of quality, integrity and scientific practice. This accreditation provides independent assurance of the expertise, systems and processes that underpin the work performed every day.
While much of this work takes place behind the scenes, its impact on the community is significant. Through the analysis of forensic evidence, PathWest contributes to police investigations, supports legal proceedings and helps maintain confidence in the administration of justice across Western Australia.
Each year, the Forensic Biology team analyses more than 65,000 forensic samples and delivers over 20,000 reports in support of the Western Australia Police Force, demonstrating the scale and importance of its contribution to community safety and justice outcomes.
This story recognises the people behind the science and their commitment to excellence, innovation and continuous improvement in forensic services.
