Immunosuppressant service changes to 7 days per week starting on 7 January 2024
Registrars will be exempt from the obligation to contact the on-call pathologists at PathWest to obtain authorisation to send samples on weekends. To facilitate an efficient workflow and assure prompt delivery of service, please note the following sample processing times and kindly distribute this information to other staff members.
To obtain same day results (by 4 pm) for Tacrolimus, Sirolimus, Everolimus, and Cyclosporin test requests, samples must be received in testing laboratory (CBPT, QEII MC, Level 1, PP Block, Hospital Avenue, Nedlands, WA 6009):
- Monday - Saturday by 2pm, and
- Sundays/public holidays by 1pm.
Please note:
- Specimens received after 2pm Monday – Saturday and after 1pm Sundays and public holidays will be assayed and reported the following day
- Critically urgent Tacrolimus samples may warrant transport by taxi to QEII.
