Shoutout to PathWest Albany

A treating clinician at Denmark Health Service has expressed gratitude to the PathWest Albany staff for their commendable response to an urgent need for red blood cells and fresh frozen plasma.

The patient, admitted to the Emergency Department in Denmark, suffered multiple limb fractures, a skull fracture, and severe brain injury. Given the extent of the injuries, resuscitation was challenging due to only one of the patient's four limbs being usable, leading to significant blood loss. The treating clinician believes that the prompt delivery of blood by PathWest staff played a crucial role in the patient's survival and extends thanks to PathWest Albany on behalf of the Emergency Medical team at Denmark.
