Haematology and Biochemical Genetics

PathWest Department of Diagnostic Genomics offers genetic testing for a range of haematology and biochemical disorders, including but not limited to:

  • Haemoglobinopathies
  • Cystic Fibrosis (Covered by Medicare if stated Indications for Testing are met (Items 73345, 73346, 73347, 73348, 73349, 73350))
  • Inherited bone marrow failure syndromes
  • Iron metabolism anomalies, including haemochromatosis (Covered by Medicare if stated Indications for Testing are met (Item 73317))
  • Copper metabolism disorders
  • Hepatic disorders
  • Genotyping to predict responses to or side effects from drugs
