Congratulations to PathWest Manjimup Regional Services where we were one of the employers in the State's south honoured at the Volunteer Employer Recognition Awards held by Department of Fire and Emergency Services on 12 November 2021.
This award was to recognise employers who support their employees to take on volunteer duties within their community.
Karen Hyde, Laboratory Assistant at PathWest Manjimup is also a volunteer of Northcliffe Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service and sometimes on call-outs during the night. This is supported by her manager Nyree Fisher who arranges cover for her when needed. Karen attended the fires in Northcliffe and was also sent to NSW and Esperance when they needed help. Local staff put in extra hours, often at very short notice, so Karen is able to attend emergencies.
Nyree said, “I think it’s important in small towns to support staff to do what they can for the local emergency services. PathWest as an employer has a great set up to enable this to occur.”
PathWest is honoured to be recognised with this important award, and we are very proud of Karen, Nyree and the whole team in Manjimup.
